Modern beer brewed in Dundee

As Dundee’s first active brewery in over 50 years we are reviving the lost art of brewing in this vibrant city.

71 Brewing brewed our inaugural batch in The Old Foundry Building on Blackness Road back in 2016.

We are an independent brewery crafting crisp lagers and small batch brews inspired by new-wave, modern brewing techniques, traditional European styles and superior quality ingredients.

Brewed in the buildings...

The home of 71 is a former ironworks towering out of the heart of an area known as ‘Hell’s Half Acre’. Spread over three floors and 27,000 sq feet, the brewery building formed a major part of the mighty Blackness iron foundry.

that gave Blackness its name

The sprawling Blackness Ironworks complex, dominated the Blackness neighbourhood of Dundee. Much of the facility has been torn-down following the Second World War though smoke stacks and buildings from the old facility still dot the neighbourhood.

Brewery tours have been postponed for the moment

Due to some new equipment coming in and continued renovations we are unable to operate tours at the moment. Check back over the coming weeks for updates on tours going into the fall.

    Originally a temporary covid replacement for our taproom, our 100-person beer garden is now a permanent fixture at 71 Brewing.

    Due to some exciting construction our bottle shop is now closed.

Core Range

Our core range blends classic styles and approachability with modern hops and twists. Available year-round in both small pack and on-trade formats.

Specials and Collaborations

Our small batch, collaborations, and special beers allow us to push our creative boundaries, brewing styles from European classics such as Gose, Berliner Weisse and Lagers through to the new wave fruit forward IPA's. All one off brews, so get them whilst they're fresh.

Fruition Seasonal Sours

Taking us in an new direction for 2021 is the addition of Fruition Seasonal Sours to our line up. This brand new series of fruit forward hazy sours showcase the very best of locally sourced Scottish fruit and the highest quality exotic fruits and ingredients.

Gluten Free Beer

We are in the process of upgrading our brewery to produce our own in-house gluten free beers. Keep checking back here, and follow our social accounts for updates on when our GF brands will be live.

For guests to our beer garden, we source a selection of GF beers, as well as ciders and other beverages.
